Jericho is one of the world’s oldest cities, famed for its biblical conquest, archaeological significance, and strategic location in the Jordan Valley.

Jericho, located near the Dead Sea in the Jordan Valley, is considered the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth, with layers dating back to the Neolithic period. According to the Book of Joshua, the Israelites conquered Jericho through divine intervention after encircling its walls. Archaeological digs at Tell es-Sultan uncovered ancient towers, mudbrick fortifications, and early urban structures. The city is also linked to prophets Elisha and Jesus. Modern Jericho includes Hisham’s Palace, the Mount of Temptation, and springs that continue to nourish this oasis of biblical and historical meaning.
