<p>The UN Security Council convened today (Wednesday) to discuss the situation in Syria.'</p><p>Ambassador Danon said in his remarks: “Israel has an obligation to our Druze brothers and sisters. Show us that Syria is ready for real change using actions, not slogans.”</p><p>Danon added: “It is impossible to talk about a ‘new Syria’ when Druze, Christians and Alawites are being massacred. Change is proven by actions: stopping the killings…and protecting minorities.</p><p>At the end of the session, the Syrian Ambassador to the UN, Ibrahim Olabi, responded to Ambassador Danon and said: “We have already proven ourselves to Syrians, to our region and to our allies…is Israel doing the same?”</p><p>Ambassador Danon added: “Israel will not allow militias on its border.”</p> | Read More in News from Israel
